07/12/2013 Capt. Paul had the Moosa Aziz charter on board the Bounty Hunter today. Moosa and his group never fished for Fluke before and never were on a Charter boat. We left in a dense fog and made our way up to the rough spots. The first hour was a tutorial on how to operate a reel and develope a Bucktail motion. The fishing was slow for us but the crew managed 5 Keepers and released a few shorts. Moosa and his crew decided to call it a day around Noon. It was a maximum effort by a great crew. Spots are still available for our Open Boat Fluke trips on July 14th, 15th, 16th & 17th. Call 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
07/11/2014 The Matt MacSherry charter was back on the Bounty Hunter today. Along with Matt were Shaun, Kevin, Mac, Greg and Gary. Paul made his way north and started drifting on the rough stuff. We had very little wind but a strong outgoing tide made for a nice drift. The guy's picked away all day and although the fishing was not the greatest they finished up the day with 9 nice Fluke over 10 shorts and a couple of Ling. On the way in Paul made stops on the Seabass grounds and the charter added a boat Limit catch of 24 Seabass to the days total. Spots are still available for our Open Boat Fluke trips on July 14th, 15th, 16th & 17th. Give me a call at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
06/30/2014 Capt. Paul ran his last Open Boat Seabass trip today. On board we had regulars Tom & Jay along with newcomers Frank, John & Brendan. We knew we had our work cut out for us as the south wind and current persisted thru the night. Paul made several stops on pieces that read good life but we had very few takers. By 10AM The south wind came on pretty good and the guys had a tough time feeling the bites. By 1:30 it was time to leave the playing field. We finished the day with 50 Seabass and 18 Ling in the box. It was a tough day with a great crew. Spots are still available for the scheduled Open Boat Fluke trips on July 8th & 9th. E-Mail or call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
06/29/2014 Today we had the Bill Zuchero charter on board the Bounty Hunter. Capt. Paul got the guy's on the fish early and by 9:30AM we had 45 nice size Seabass on ice along with a dozen Ling. The south wind and current started to come on and we could see the bite was beginning to slow down. Each move was starting to produce less. The crew did not give up as we made several moves during the course of the day they gave it a maximum effort and finished up with 80 quality Seabass along with 28 Ling and 1 Winter Flounder. Tomorrow is our last Open Boat Seabass trip until Sept. We hope the south wind and current subside. Spots are still available for the Open Boat Fluke trips on July 1st, 3rd, 8th & 9th. Call 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
06/28/2014 The Guy Rogers charter was on board the Bounty Hunter today. We got an early start and Paul put Guy's crew on the first 2 pieces that were alive with big Seabass. With a couple of newbies in the group it took a while to get them in tune but once they did the big fish were flying into the box. When the bite slowed we finished the day drifting on the hard bottom. Guy's crew finished up with a 6 person limit catch of 90 Seabass and 15 Ling. We also had several Tog and a couple of Porgies which were released. It was another good weather day and we enjoyed fishing with a great group. They will be back for the Fall Striper run. Spots are still available for the scheduled Open Boat Fluke trips on July 1st, 3rd, 8th & 9th. Call 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
6/26/2014 Today was a very different day on the Bounty Hunter. Our friend and Bounty Hunter supporter Don Beshada was on board and he came alone. He invited me to fish all day and only keep a good supply of bait handy. I'm on the boat everyday but rarely if ever fish. So it was a rare treat to catch large Seabass, large Tog and Ling. Paul put the boat on the good bottom and Don and I enjoyed an endless bite finishing up with a limit catch of 45 very nice Seabass Over 20 Tog up to 8 lbs which were released and a dozen Ling. Spots are still available for the Open Boat Fluke trips on July 1st, 3rd, 8th & 9th. Give me a call at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
06/24/2014 Capt. Paul ran an Open Boat Seabass trip today. On board we had 3 Mikes, Ryan, Dwight & Carl. After a wind shift to the SW and yesterday's current dropping out we had a good shot at the Seabass. Paul worked the rough bottom and kept the crew on the Seabass all morning. Around 11AM the south wind started to come on and conditions deteriorated quickly. It really did not matter as by that time the crew had a limit catch of 90 large Seabass on ice along with 16 Ling. It's always fun when you have good fishermen on board. Spots are still available for the scheduled Open Boat Fluke sailings on July 1st, 3rd, 8th & 9th. E-Mail me or call 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
