11/13/2013 Today We sailed with Paul, Frank, Jim, David, Ed & Dave. Cleared the Inlet at 6AM into a much more pleasant ocean then we had yesterday. Capt. Paul ran back to the spot where we had the good bite yesterday and found the bait and Bass. Our first few fish were trolled but then it became a Jigging day. The guy's had a great day putting their 12 fish limit catch of Bass in the box plus 3 Bonus fish. Mixed in with the Bass we had our share of Blues. The guy's finished the day with 15 Bass in the box and released over 20 more. Along with the Bass they released over 20 big Blues. 75% of all our Bass were taken on Jigs.
11/12/2013 Capt. Paul ran an Open Boat Striper trip today. On board we had first timers to the Bounty Hunter Jenna, Chris, Jerry, Greg & Ed along with long time regular Mark. We cleared the Inlet at 6AM and sailed into a dark windy and rough ocean. With the Bass within a few miles of home we decided to tough it out for a few hours and put together a catch. Drifting was impossible and with a 30 knot wind drifting and jigging or casting Shads was out of the question. Paul put out the Trolling gear and we had Our first Bass on within a minute. In 2 hours we had a limit catch of 12 nice Bass and it was decided to leave the playing field. A tough morning with a tough crew but well worth the effort. They will remember this trip for a long time.
11/11/2013 Capt. Paul had the Ed Sobjak charter on board the Bounty Hunter today. Along with Ed were Jameson, Bruce, Kyle, Anthony & Chad. We got the usual early start and got on some good reads right after first light. The crew tried Jigging but it was obvious early that the Bass were going to be finicky about the Jigs. After an hour all we had to show for the effort was 1 Dogfish. A decision to put out the Trolling gear proved to be the right move as the Bass were all over the Rigs. The 6 first time customers enjoyed a 3 hour bite which enabled them to box their limit catch of 12 Bass plus 5 Bonus fish along with 6 big Blues. We spent the last 2 hours in the release mode. We finished the day with well over 25 Bass. Check the Bounty Hunter "Open Boat Charter" page for our next Open Boat Striper trips. The dates will be posted shortly.
11/09/2013 The Chris Cameroni charter returned to the Bounty Hunter for a day of Striper fishing. Along with Chris were his regulars Don, Ron, Kyle, Tony and newcomer to the Bounty Hunter Dean. We cleared the inlet at 6AM and ran down to the spot where the Bass bite was going on for the past few days. We started the day Jigging but after a couple hours all we had for our effort was one Dogfish. Putting out the Trolling gear was a little better as we boated 8 Blues and 3 nice Bass. Overall it was not a great day as the boat traffic slowed the bite, but it was nice to spend the day with a great bunch of guy's. The Open Striper trip on the 12th is now full and only 1 spot still remains available for the trip on the 19th. Call 732-323-8700 if you would like to fill out that trip.
10/19/2013 We had the Nodan Schneider charter on board today. Along with Nodan were his brother Simon and nephew Leon. We were headed to the northern grounds but got a call that the Blues were thick off Elberon. We pulled up on the surface feeding Blues and had our first fish in a few minutes. For the next few hours the guys had a workout handling the big fish. Over the course of the morning they boxed 8 Blues and 1 Striper while releasing over a dozen Blues unharmed.
10/16/2013 The Chris Cameroni charter was on board the Bounty Hunter today. Filling out the crew were Carmine, Chris, Peter And Platoa. We got an early start and were the first boat on the grounds. Had our first fish on within minutes and the crew enjoyed a 2 hour non stop bite of blues up to 20 lbs. The bite stopped at slack water but the big fish came on with the tide change. All the fish were large and were taken on Ava 27's. The guy's put 20 Blues in the box then spent the rest of the trip in the release mode.
10/05/2013 Paul had Don Beshada and his daughter Emily back on the Bounty Hunter today. Joining Don & Emily was long time Bounty Hunter supporter Tom Miller. We only had time to get in 3 hours of fishing so the crew had their work cut out for them. All the stops today held plenty of short fish but keepers were scarce. When we called it a day we had 15 Seabass in the box. Emily again showed her fishing ability by taqking high hook honors along with catching the largest Seabass. Spots are still available for the Oct. 14th Closing Day Open Boat Seabass trip. Call 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
