09/27/2014 The Chris Cameroni charter was on board the Bounty Hunter today. After 2 weather postponements Chris and his crew finally got in a good weather day. We still had a brisk north wind and a strong north curent in the AM and that kept the Blues bait shy for the first 3 hours but as the wind subsided the Blues slowly came on. Chris and his crew picked away and ended the day with a dozen Blues in the box. It was a great weather day with a good crew. Chris will be back for his annual Striper Charter in November. The Stripers are going to be here. Now is the time to call and book your day. 732-323-8700.
09/21/2014 Paul ran another Open Boat Fluke trip today. On board we had regulars Mike, Paul, Doug, Jim and new comers to the Bounty Hunter Mike and Jim. The wind was calm but the ocean had a huge SE swell. We made our way out to the deeper water and once again we were into the Fluke. However today there was very little drift and the Skates, Sea Robins and smooth Sand Sharks were present in large numbers. The crew Bucktailed their butts off and managed to land 8 keeper Fluke while releasing over 40 shorts along with too many Skates, Robins and smoothies to count. As usual it was a good day with a great crew. November is coming fast. The Stripers will be here. Now is the time to call and book your charter. 732-323-8700.
09/18/2014 Don Beshada broke away from his busy work schedule to join Paul for a few hours of Fluke fishing. Our first stops only produced a few shorts. A move of a couple miles put us on a good spread of Fluke and the action was non stop. Unfortunately the mad bite consisted of 16" to 17 1/2" fish. Don had several double hook ups and we stopped counting when we reached 40 shorts. We finished the morning with 3 keepers and lost count of the shorts. We all had a good time on a picture perfect day. November is coming fast and the Stripers will be here. Now is the time to call and book your charter. The available days will not last long.
09/04/2014 Capt. Paul ran an Open Boat Seabass trip today. On board we had Bill, Ron, Jay, Vern, Paul & Rich. Conditions today were perfect. Little to no wind and no current. Paul ran a little further today but the move paid off. A few of the stops held little to no life but the ones that did held some quality Seabass. The guy's worked each drop hard and were rewarded with a limit catch of 90 Seabass. In addition they caught and released 7 undersize Fluke. It was a great group to fish with and we look forward to their return. Spots are still available for the Open Boat Fluke trips scheduled for Sept. 9, 11, 13 & 14. E-mail or call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
09/03/2014 Today we had the Dave Fleming charter on board the Bounty Hunter. Paul got an early start and was on his first drop by 7AM. It became immediately apparent that we were going to be fighting a strong south current. Adding to the challenge was the fact that 4 of the 5 crew members never fished for Seabass before. After the first 2 hours we did not have a Seabass in the box. Slowly the guys got it together and started to have a slow pick. We had to make 8 drops but the boys put it together and finished the day with a nice catch of 51 Seabass. They also had 6 Fluke 1 of which measured over 18" while the others went back. Spots are still available for the Open Boat Fluke trips on Sept. 9, 11, 13 & 14. Call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
09/01/2014 Paul ran an Open Boat Seabass trip today. On board we had newcomers to the Bounty Hunter Mario, Aldo and Chris along with Bounty Hunter regular Ginny. Paul ran offshore and made stops on 6 spots that he last fished in June. All held good life but only 3 produced the quality fish we were looking for. The guys and gal fished hard and put together a limit catch of 60 nice Seabass. We enjoyed a calm ocean and good fishing with a great crew. Spots are available for the Sept. 8th Bluefin Tuna trip and the scheduled Open Boat Fluke trips on Sept. 9, 11, 13 & 14. E-Mail or call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
08/29/2012 Paul had the Matt MacSherry charter on board today. Along with Matt were Gary, Mac, Tony & Marc. After clearing the Inlet we were greeted by a brisk NNE wind which made for uncomfortable conditions once beyond a mile of the shoreline. Paul ran up to the northern grounds and for the first couple of hours the crew toughed it out until the wind began to subside. For the day we had plenty of bites as the guys released over 25 shorts but the best we could do on this day was 7 keepers all of which were between 18" & 24". Spots are still available for the Open Boat Fluke trips on Sept. 1st & 2nd and the Open Boat midrange Tuna trips on Sept. 8th & 10th. Call 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
