08/07/2014 Don Beshada returned to the Bounty Hunter for the second time this week. Paul ran up to the northern grounds and Don who cannot get enough Fluke fishing enjoyed a good morning. With Paul joining him for a rare few hours of fishing they both put together a decent catch of Fluke up to 6 lbs. When we started for home we had 8 Fluke and 2 Seabass in the box. Over a dozen shorts were released. 2 Spots are still available for the Aug. 12th Open Boat Bluefin Tuna trip. Give me a call at 732-323-8700 to reserve a spot.
08/01/2014 Paul had Bounty Hunter regular Don Beshada along with his friend Steve on board today. It was an abbreviated trip as Don only had a few hours to fish So, Paul wasted no time getting up to the area that has held some nice Fluke for the past few days. The guy's bucktailed for 4 hours and put together a nice catch of 6 Keeper Fluke while releasing over a dozen shorts. The ocean was calm and we had a good drift. We were on our way home by 11:30AM. Don will be back after the weekend. Spots are still available for our Open Boat Fluke trip on Aug. 7th. E-mail or call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
07/30/2014 Paul had the Jim Vertes charter on board today. We started off Fluke fishing but once again we had wind into the current conditions and the best we had was a .2 to .3 Knot drift. Switching over to the Blues was not much better as the charter worked hard to put just over a dozen in the box along with several Mackeral which we kept for bait. It was a tough day with a great group.
07/29/2014 Capt. Paul had the Tony Garruto charter on board the Bounty Hunter for a day of Fluke fishing. We made a brief stop on the Bluefish grounds but the early morning stiff North wind made for uncomfortable conditions for the youngsters on board. Paul moved in closer to the beach and everyone bounced back. They gave it a great effort but at days end all they had was a handful of short Fluke. It did not matter as everyone had a great day.
07/27/2012 After a few days off due to weather and engine maintenance Paul finally got back to fishing. Today we had the Terry Davis charter on board. The first two hours of the day were a bit sporty as we were met with a brisk SW wind and torrential downpours. We sailed south to where there were some Blues taken the day before and found the area barren. Paul moved back to the north and we found the Blues back on the northern spot. Terry and his crew fished light tackle and had a good day putting together a limit catch of small Blues. It was a good day with a great group of guys. We hope to see them back soon.
07/17/2014 Paul ran his second Open Boat Fluke trip of the week today. On board we had regulars Dwight, Carl, Steve along with newcomers to the Bounty Hunter Al & Dan. The weather settled overnight and the ocean was calm. We still had a residual heave which slowed down the Fluke bite but there was much more life in the ocean. Although we only had 1 keeper Fluke and several shorts the crew put 5 Ling, 5 small Blues and a Boat Limit catch of 21 nice Seabass in the box. The Fluke fishing should show a big improvement as the heave settles down. It was a good day with a crew of good fishermen. Spots are still available for the scheduled Open Boat Fluke trips on July 26th & 30th. Call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
07/16/14 Capt. Paul ran an Open Boat Fluke trip today. On board were all regulars Tom, Kyle, Ryan, Jay & Bill. We were greeted by a dense fog as we left the Inlet. A short while later the torrential rains caught up with us. When we got to the rough bottom up north a sreaming north current into a 6 foot heave from the south made catching impossible. We were on the trip from hell. We struggled all morning and the crew gave it a good effort. By noon we had only caught 7 short Fluke. An hour before calling it a day Tom landed our only keeper a 19" Fluke. Thank God we have understanding customers. Spots are available for the scheduled Open Boat Fluke trips on July 26th & 30th. Call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
