08/02/15 The Phil Narducci charter returned to the Bounty Hunter for another day of Bluefishing. Filling out Phil's crew were Frank, Rich, Haim, Rocco & Pat. Today Paul decided to run offshore to put Phil's group on the Small Blues & Mackerel. We were the first boat on the grounds and it did not take long to locate the reads. The fish were feeding on Sand Eels and an Ava 27 or 47 With 2 Teasers was the way to go. Today the Mackerel dominated the bite. When the guys called it a day at noon they had boxed 150 Mackerel and 34 Blues. We went home with an arm weary crew. The Aug. 7th Open Boat Fluke trip is now filled. 5 Spots are available on the Aug. 6th Open Boat Fluke trip. Call 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
08/01/15 The Vince Viviani charter was on board the Bounty Hunter today. We ran back to the area where we had some great fishing the day before but only found scattered reads. Once again Jigging and bait were not getting the job done so it was back to Trolling. Paul worked the area all morning but all we came up with were a couple of Blues and 1 short Bass. Coming off the full moon did not help the fishing. But we at least had the opportunity to spend the day with a crew of understanding fishermen. 5 Spots are available for the Open Boat Fluke sailing on Aug. 6th. Call 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot. The Aug.7th Open Boat Fluke trip is now filled.
07/31/15 Capt. Paul had the Sean Gearty charter on board today for a day of Bluefishing. Filling out Sean's group were Richard, Nathan, Ian, Cole and Alex. After a short search Paul got on some good Bluefish reads. Jigging was not on the Blues menu today neither was bait. So it did not take long to put out the Trolling gear. That was the ticket as the Blues jumped on everything Paul put out. The fish were BIG and hungry. We had a good bite going for quite a while as the charter boxed 15 Blues the largest weighing in at 18 Lbs. while releasing over 20 more. In the mix the charter got a Bonus as a Big Striped Bass inhaled a lure and when put on the scale it weighed in at 34 Lbs. It was a great day to be on the ocean with a good crew. Every one went home with a bag of Fillets and sore arms. Spots are available for our Open Boat Fluke Trips scheduled for Aug. 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th. E-Mail or call 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
07/29/15 Capt. Paul ran an Open Boat Fluke trip today. On board we had Dwight, Carl, Mark, Tony, Mark & Bob. Paul fished to the south for a change and the Fluke cooperated early. The crew had 5 keepers in the box within the first few hours and released over a dozen shorts. As has been the case lately we had little to no drift in the morning and when the wind came on we had to fast a drift in the afternoon. The crew hung in there and finished up with a total of 9 Fluke on ice and released a pile of shorts. It was another good day with a great crew. Spots are available for our Open Boat Fluke trips scheduled for Aug. 5th & 6th. E-Mail or call me at 732-323-8700 To reserve your spot.
07/25/15 Capt. Paul had long time Bounty Hunter supporter Mike Frenzel on board the Bounty Hunter today. Rounding out Mike's crew were Paul, Ed, Cliff & Lisa. Today was Fluke Tournament Day and after making our way thru the mob scene at the Inlet at 6AM we were off to the northern Fluke grounds. Paul was hoping for some better Fluke fishing today as compared to the dismal fishing of the last few days. Once again we had to cope with wind against the tide conditions with little to no drift. Around noon the drift improved and the Fluke started to bite. 90% of the bites were short fish but the crew did manage to box 4 nice Fluke and a couple of nice Seabass. Over 2 dozen shorts were released. It was not great fishing but it was a vast improvement over what we had the past week. Spots remain on the Open Boat Fluke trips scheduled for July 27, 29 & 30. Call me at 732-323-8700 To reserve a Spot.
07/23/15 Don Beshada and his daughter Emily were on board the Bounty Hunter for a few hours of Fluke fishing. It was a beautiful day on the water but with the wind against the tide conditions we had little to no drift and a very slow bite. Emily as usual boxed 1 keeper while Don released a few shorts. They then went on to catch a boat limit of Seabass. It was a short day and we were back at the dock by Noon. Spots are still available on our Open Boat Fluke trips scheduled for July 26, 27, 29 & 30. Call 732-323-8700 To reserve your spot.
07/21/15 Paul ran an Open Boat trip today. On board we had Eddie, Frank, Chris, Mike & Mark. We got an early start and Paul ran up to the rough bottom. We were optimistic after landing 2 nice keepers on our first drift but the optimism did not last long as we lost out drift and the bite shut down. We spent the next few hours power drifting and catching an occasional short Fluke with a few short Seabass mixed in. With the afternoon tide change we got back our drift and the bite improved. The crew salvaged the day by adding another 5 Fluke to the catch along with a Boat Limit of large Seabass plus 5 Ling. We always have a good time when this crew is on board. Looking forward to their return in the Fall. Spots are still available for the Open Boat Fluke trips on July 26, 27, 29 & 30. Call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
