09/12/15 The Jeff Adiletta charter was on board today. Filling out Jeff's group were Bill, Javier, Jim. Dom & Tony. Paul made the ride to the offshore grounds and set up on some good reads. The ocean conditions made for an uncomfortable drift so we anchored up and jigged. Jeff and his crew had the Blues and Mackerel on within a few minutes and enjoyed a non stop bite. When they had what they wanted they went into the release mode until they called it a day. We spent the day with a great bunch of guys who toughed it out in less than desirable conditions. Spots are available for our Open Boat Fluke trips on Sept. 13th, 14th & 15th. The Fluke season closes on Sept. 26th, So call today to reserve your spot.
09/06/15 The Joe Dittus charter joined Paul for a day of Fluke fishing. Along with Joe were Mike, Shannon, Joe , Chris & Nick. Paul headed back up north where the fishing has been decent for the last few trips. We only had 2 Bucktailers on board as the remaining 4 were all new to the game. We caught the end of the tide and put 5 keepers in the box. The bite died with the tide change and all we had were a couple of shorts and the usual Seabass bites. With the change the Fluke turned on again and the crew added another 4 nice Fluke to the catch. The last hour was spent fighting a mad dog bite by the Skates and Sand Sharks. Another good weather day and we spent it with a great group. Spots are still available for the Open Boat Fluke trips scheduled for Sept. 8th, 9th 10th & 11th. Call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
09/01/15 Paul had the John Gilroy charter on board the Bounty Hunter. Rounding out John's crew were Mike, Jeff, Pat, Mike & Sean. Today was a replay of our last trip. We had very little wind and no drift in the AM. All the good bites came later in the morning. Paul worked his way north again stopping on rough spots along the way. John's crew put a couple of keepers in the box and had the usual Seabass bites in between the short Fluke. When the wind finally came on in the late morning and the drift improved we started to see the bigger Fluke. We finished the day with 10 nice Fluke on ice and released over 20 shorts. Spots are still available for our Open Boat Fluke trips scheduled for Sept. 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 & 11. Fluke season will close shortly,so don't miss out on the last of the action. Call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
08/29/15 Capt. Paul had the Mike Frenzel charter on board the Bounty Hunter today. Mike's crew was made up his regulars Paul, Ed, Cliff and Albert. Paul started the day local and slowly worked his way to the north. Not much action down our way as there was little to no drift. The guy's picked away at some shorts but had a tough time getting thru the "Overfished" species as the Seabass were thick, all big and a constant problem on every piece of rough bottom that we stopped on. At noon the south wind started to kick in and bigger fish started to bite. The crew put 7 nice keepers in the box Mike had a 26" fish followed by Paul's 24" Fluke. We finished with 7 in the box and over 20 shorts released. Spots are still available for our next scheduled Open Boat Fluke trips on Sept, 3rd, 5th & 6th. E-Mail or call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
08/14/15 Paul had the Ed Barnwell charter on board today. Ed and his friends wanted to fish for Blues so Paul headed offshore to the Bluefish grounds. Fishing was very good but the Mackerel outnumbered the Blues about 5 to 1. It did not matter as Ed's crew was looking to put a bend in the rod and have a good time. We called it a day at noon when the charter had enough action. Spots are still available for the Aug. 24th, 25th, 26th & 28th Open Boat Fluke trips. Call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
08/13/15 Paul had the Mike Klier charter on board the Bounty Hunter. Along with Mike were his Son Kevin and Grandson Shawn. Mike lives in Florida and is in NJ visiting family but before he went home he wanted to give Fluke Bucktailing a try something that none of them did before. As has been the case before, the weather was beautiful but the Fluke were not eager to bite. Paul made several stops on good bottom but all the boys landed were short Fluke. Their Bucktailing style needs a little improvement. We left for home with 2 keeper Fluke in the box and released around 20 shorts. Mike said he may get back here for a Seabass trip. We hope so because we had a great time with him and his family. Spots are available for our Open Boat Fluke trips on Aug. 24th, 25th, 26th & 28th. Call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve a spot.
08/10/15 Capt. Paul ran another Open Boat Fluke trip today. On board we had regulars Tom, Bill, Jay and Joe along with newcomer Vince. Paul cleared the Inlet and ran south into a nasty SE Swell which lasted all day. Making several stops along the way only produced a constant catch of undersized Fluke. After a few hours a we had 1 Legal size Fluke in the Box. Setting up south of the Reef the crew finally boxed 2 more nice size Fluke one at 21" the last at 24". That was it for the day. It was a tough day with a good bunch of guy's. I'm sure they all will be on future Open Boat trips. Spots are available for the last 4 August Open Boat Fluke trips, which are scheduled for Aug. 24, 25, 26 & 28. E-mail or call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
