06/19/2016 Paul had the Luke Catanzaro charter on board the Bounty Hunter today. Along with Luke were Carl, Marco & Franco. We started the day by letting the guys Snag Bunker and fill the well. After that we spent most of the morning chasing and working the Bunker schools without any bites or misses. Paul finally decided to put out the Trolling gear and it was not long before we had 2 nice Bass in the boat. Acting on info that a bite started up to the north Paul pulled the gear and made the run up to the grounds. Resuming the Troll we boated another 2 nice Bass giving us 4 for the day while missing 1. The largest weighed in at 42 lbs. All the catching was done with Spoons & Plugs. Live bunker did not produce a touch. Spots are still available for the Open Boat Striper trips scheduled for June 21st, 28th, 29th & 30th. Call 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
06/18/2016 Capt Paul did his final Seabass charter for the Spring season today. Next Seabass trips will be made in October. On board we had the John McGrath charter. Along with John were Ed, Ernie, Mike, Fred & Ed. Paul had to make several stops today as it appears that the smaller Seabass have taken over the inshore drops. Fortunately there were enough nice size Seabass still around but it was tough fishing. By mid afternoon we put our 60th Seabass in the box and started for home with a limit catch and 6 happy guys. Spots are still available for our Open Boat Striped Bass trips on June 21st, 28th, 29th & 30th. Call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
06/16/2016 Paul had the Bob Spells charter on board today. Filling out Bob's crew were Nate, Leroy, Cornelius, Joseph & Bobby. We spent the first 2 hours of the day fishing for Striped Bass without a bite. Bob then suggested we switch gears and head offshore for Seabass. Paul made the switch and we went Seabass fishing. With a few hours left in the day we were on our way to a Seabass limit catch when one of the guys hooks up a Thresher on a Seabass rig. The fun began and the rod was handed off several times. Finally after nearly 2 hours the Threshers tail cut the line. With an exhausted crew we called it a day and went home with 42 Seabass. Spots are still available for my Open Boat Striper trips scheduled for June 21st, 28th, 29th & 30th. Call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
06/15/2016 Paul ran an Open Boat Striped Bass trip today. On board we had Al, Doug, Andrew, Lorenzo, Bill & Ken. All are Bounty Hunter regulars. Paul found the Bass north of the Inlet today and the guys spent the day casting plugs and Live Lining Bunker. It was not a mad dog bite but good enough to allow the crew to put 5 nice Bass up to 38Lbs. in the box. It was a nice weather day, good catch and a great crew to fish with. Spots are still available for my Open Boat Striper trips on June 21st, 28th, 29th & 30th. Call me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your spot.
06/14/2016 After 2 days off due to the strong west winds Paul returned to Seabass fishing. On board he had the Todd Sontagh charter. Making up Todd's crew were Alexandru, Angel, Manuel, Roner & Luis. Paul made a few drops on local pieces and the crew picked decent fish on each stop. Shortly after Noon it was decided to call it a day as the boys had a 6 man limit catch of 60 Seabass in the cooler. Everyone had a fun time and we enjoyed fishing with them. Spots are still available for my June 21st, 28th, 29th & 30th Open Boat Striped Bass trips. E-Mail or all me at 732-323-8700 to reserve your Spot.
06/11/2016 Capt. Paul had the Dave Fleming charter on board today. Fishing with Dave were Matt, Andrew, Johnathon, David & Jan. Paul ran north today and as expected we found ourselves in a fleet of boats. We put out the Trolling gear and had our first bump and miss within several minutes. It took a while for our second bump and miss before finally getting a Bass which we pulled the hook on after a brief encounter. Our 4th fish turned out to be a charm as it was handled perfectly and landed after a brief battle. It turned out to be a beauty measuring 50" and tipping the scale at 48 lbs. Being spawned out and having an empty stomach kept it from being a 50 lb. fish. By late morning the south wind came on and with gusts of 25 knots ended the fishing for us. 1 spot is still available on the June 15th Open Boat Striper trip. Call 732-323-8700 if you want the spot.
06/10/2016 The Matt MacSherry charter returned to the Bounty Hunter for a day of Seabass fishing. Making up Matt's crew were Greg, Jayson, Mac & Mick. There was still some residual wind from yesterday and the ocean was still rough until mid morning. Paul fished 3 stops today and had to double anchor on each one to minimize the Roll. That did not stop the fish from biting and the Slop did not stop the crew from catching as they went on to box a boat limit of nice Seabass along with 18 Ling a nice 19" winter Flounder and 2 Keeper Pollock. Its always fun to fish with Matt & his crew and they will be back again next week. 1 Spot is still available for my Open Boat Striper trip on June 15th. If anyone wants the last spot call me at 732-323-8700.
